The primary role of the Director, Donor and Impact Reporting – WE Schools, is oversight of the ongoing partnership management which includes; design and development of funder initiatives; and program evaluation for all aspects our  WE Schools program. The Director will support the Head, WE Schools to ensure the success of daily operations and fundraising targets, and will also support WE Charity's Executive Director to ensure attainment of the organizational priorities and strategic imperatives.

The position is based out of WE’s office in Toronto (233 Carlton Street).

Your Impacts:
Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and Evaluation of WE School Program and Impacts
  • Stewardship of Provincial and National funders
  • Supporting WE Schools Program Development and Delivery
  • Creating, monitoring and providing reports for government funding and impact reports for our corporate partners
  • Shared Leadership of the WE Schools Team
  • Working with internal Partner relations team to develop sponsorship opportunities within the WE Schools Program
  • Defining sponsorship activations and evaluating and reporting on metrics
  • Working between departments to align sponsor messages across activations (WE Day, M2W, TYI, WE Schools etc.)
  • Confirming sponsorship deliverables (ensuring all teams are aware of deliverables)
  • Creation and management of all internal and external reports

Monitoring and Evaluation of WE Schools Program and Communication of Impact

  • Oversee the development of a sophisticated program evaluation plan, and ensure integrated implementation to monitor impacts of programs across WE Schools
  • Lead monitoring and evaluation team to track through surveys, reports, focus groups to ensure needs of Free the Children and external stakeholders are met
  • Liaise with other departments to enhance collaboration and understanding of impact reporting (e.g. Partner Relations, Business Development)
  • Lead creation of impact reports (regional, provincial, national) showcasing program growth and impact in respective markets
  • Lead external relationships with third party evaluators
  • Develop presentations to the Director team, Global Heads and Executive team as required
  • Development of standardized reporting processes and management techniques
  • Use data to inform new tactics and strategies for increasing market share and generating revenue

Partnership Reporting Management:
Provincial and National Funders:

  • Represent the organization to provincial Ministries of Education
  • Seeking new business development opportunities with novel funders and departments
  • Re-engagement of provincial and national educational funders
  • Responsible for monitoring WE Schools program progress and supporting team in evaluation of, and creation of year-end reports

Corporate Sponsors and Reporting Management

  • Working with internal Partner relations team to develop sponsorship opportunities within the WE Schools Program
  • Defining sponsorship activations and evaluating and reporting on metrics
  • Working between departments to align sponsor messages across activations (WE Day, M2W, TYI, WE Schools etc.)
  • Confirming sponsorship deliverables (ensuring all teams are aware of deliverables)

Leadership of WE Schools

  • Represent the Youth and Educational Programming team in Director meetings and strategy development
  • Monitor quality and performance of team members providing timely resources, supports and materials to ensure success
  • Clearly communicating priorities, objectives and expectations to team

What you bring:

Education and Experience:  A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.  Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree and / or possess a diploma or certificate in education, project management, marketing, business or equivalent education.  Experience working with schools and/or school administrative bodies and / or youth as well as managing people in a large team, including mentoring, motivating and monitoring performance considered key assets. 

Knowledge and Expertise: Expertise in monitoring and evaluation, with experience in survey methods and outcomes-driven assessments. Demonstrated experience and ability to deliver several programs simultaneously.  Demonstrated passion for education and strong understanding in Canadian and American education systems and government relations.
Technical Skills:   Possess a strong related technical language and knowledge and well as proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher)

Communication Skills:  Excellent writing skills, with experience writing strategic plans, program reports and proposals.  Excellent communication skills, with ability to represent the organization to external stakeholders as well as to work with senior level management to deliver on vision and key outcomes for the organization
Other Skills & Abilities: Excellent organizational, administrative, communication and inter-personal skills. Able to work well independently as well within a team setting.   Self-motivated, independent and strategic thinker. Ability to multi – task, work well under pressure and changing deadlines with the ability to set priorities accordingly.  Strong organizational skills.  Positive and professional attitude. Reliable work ethic and dedication.
Reporting Relationships:
The Director of Educational Partnerships & Evaluation will report to the Global Head of WE Schools – Teaching and Learning, consulting with and reporting to the Executive Director and Co-Founders of WE Charity as required.
