The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the safe procurement and delivery of furniture for Find. Drivers will spend much of their workday with a swamper (mover/helper) transporting furniture and housewares from the warehouse to clients/customers and procuring furniture from donors in the community.
Driving and Navigation – Safely operating a 3-ton or 5-ton truck and managing a daily pickup/delivery schedule.
Moving and Lifting - Load and unload furniture for pick-up and delivery. Safely lift up to 80 pounds.
Furniture Evaluation and Inspection - Thoroughly inspect furniture for quality. Evaluate condition and style of donations for their saleability and potential future use. Professionally communicate the decision and reasoning to donors when items are not accepted and offer a recycling fee for undesired items.
Customer Service - Ensure complete donor, customer, and client satisfaction by treating every individual with respect, courtesy and assistance.
Secondary Duties – Drivers are regularly rotated between driving and warehousing duties which include cleaning furniture, furniture assembly and general tidying duties. Other duties will be assigned as required.
Drivers are expected to perform their duties while maintaining the highest level of customer service. We are looking for a reliable, positive team player to act as a representative in the community.
The successful candidate will possess strong communication and customer service skills, have the ability to work well in a variety of settings with minimal supervision, work well under pressure and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and work well individually and as part of a team environment. The drivers position is physically demanding and requires the ability to consistently lift, carry and handle items up to 80lbs.
The candidate is required to have a clean and valid Class 5 Driver’s License (AB), current Drivers Abstract and Steel-toe Safety Boots.
This position requires consistent Saturday availability and has a standard work week of 5 days from Mon to Sat. The starting wage is $16.00/hr with regular performance reviews.
