SEPTEMBER 21, 2016 | INTERNAL/EXTERNAL JOB POSTING COMPETITION NO. 16-80POSITION: FASD Keyworker – Permanent Part-TimeCURRENT LOCATION: FASD Keyworker Program - SurreyCURRENT HOURS: 21 hours per weekPOSITION SUMMARY: The Keyworker will provide coordination of services to family, case conferencing, education, planning, supportive advice, linkage to other community supports, and facilitation of parent to parent support mechanisms. The Keyworker must possess strong knowledge of FASD and other complex behavioural conditions, excellent communication and advocacy skills, ability to work with ministry structures and staff in MCFD, Health, and Child and Youth Mental Health, as well as families and other community agencies. Able to develop and support a parent-to-parent support group.QUALIFICATIONS:• Bachelor’s degree with specialized training and a minimum two years’ experience working with FASD clients; or Bachelor’s degree in conjunction with specialized training, with ten or more years working in the field particularly children and youth• Must possess a valid BC driver’s license with clean driving record• Criminal record check required• Non-violent crisis intervention training• Current first aid certificateKNOWLEDGE OF THE FOLLOWING:• Developmental psychology• Case management and wraparound• Family systems theory• Group theory and practice• MCFD and community resources for youth and families• Behaviour management strategies pertaining to FASD, developmental disorders
