Participating youth must:

  • be between the ages of 15 and 30 at the time of intake;
  • have demonstrated skills achievement at the post-secondary level (this means that you must have more than secondary school achievement);

  • meet the job requirements of the IHO, which should included stated ICT-related activities;
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada and be legally entitled to work in Canada; and
  • must not be in receipt of Employment Insurance (EI) benefits.


The primary duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting an audit of the GNH website and performing website upgrades
  • Redesign of GNH website based on approved website audit recommendations
  • Developing a social media campaign and proposing a social media strategy/posting guidelines focused on Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter
  • Coordination of online postings for the Attic thrift store (online sales)
  • Various administrative tasks
  • Development of an organizational Communications Strategy
  • Supporting and participating on the Fundraising Committee
  • Member of the organizational planning team
  • Assist with the Nourish Project
  • Assist the Executive Director with the production of organizational promotional material
  • Social Media Outreach Activities
  • Provide recommendations and implementation plan to support maximizing the organizational use of Office 365
  • Workshops/Computer Classes

Reports to: Community Programmer and Executive Director



  • Experience working with WordPress
  • Comfort working with Hootsuite, Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter
  • Be respectful
  • Sound work ethic
  • Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English. A second language is a strong asset.
  • Comfort delivering workshops
  • Sense of humour

HOURS: Full-time (35 hours/week)
SALARY: $15/h


Internship provided via the Vancouver Community Network Youth Internship Program and funded under the Youth Employment Strategy by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), administered by Industry Canada.
