Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Coordinating and conducting marketing and outreach activities to employers, associations, sectors and community partners
  • Liaising with community partners regarding client referrals and client progress
  • Conducting intake sessions with potential candidates for the program
  • Managing individual and team administrative duties: scheduling appointments for candidates, completing necessary paperwork, maintaining client and employer files and filing system 
  • Delivering job retention/employer expectations workshops and information sessions at all locations, and other workshops as needed
  • Assisting clients to develop resumes, cover letters and interview skills
  • Coaching and motivating project clients during job search and during placement
  • Ensuring successful job development for clients in their areas of choice by developing and maintaining relationships with employers in high-demand fields
  • Ensuring quality of placements by matching the candidates’ skills with the job requirements
  • Developing and maintaining accurate documentation related to placements
  • Administering placement agreements with wage subsidies; monitoring wage subsidies throughout client placements
  • Ensuring individual placement targets are met
  • Travelling on a regular basis to visit employers and work from various office locations 


 Qualifications/ Skills Required:

  • University degree
  • A minimum of 2 years direct service experience in recruitment,  job development and / or job coaching
  • Superior written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Workshop facilitation skills
  • 2 years of work experience in social, health or related fields
  • Understanding of and ability to effectively apply the principles of the sales process to generate job leads and secure positions for clients
  • Vocational counselling / placement experience with youth considered a strong asset
  • Knowledge of local labour market, job search strategies and techniques
  • Strong resume and cover letter writing skills
  • Detail orientation is a must
  • Must be willing to travel, on a daily basis, to various locations for work (within GTA, Halton, Hamilton-Wentworth and Peel regions and beyond)
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable vehicle is essential
  • Flexible approach to work to ensure that all requirements of the program are met
  • Ability to communicate in both official languages is an asset
