Carey Hall is located within the bustling academic setting of UBC’s picturesque Vancouver campus. As a Front Office Services Associate (Financial), you will be a welcoming face to Carey’s constituents, including visitors, students, accommodation guests, and seminar participants while performing bookkeeping services for the entire organization with support from the Vice President Operations.
The Front Office Services Associate (Financial) works within a dedicated team at our front desk and is responsible for:
- Greeting guests, answering inquiries and assisting with reservations;
- Bookkeeping and financial record-keeping using QuickBooks desktop;
- Researching, analyzing and reporting on financial data;
- Processing and maintaining accurate HR records; and
- Assisting other functions of the front desk as required and as time permits.
The position requires liaising with Carey’s internal and external constituents and working cross-departmentally to accurately “get the job done.”
We are interested in candidates who demonstrate highly developed organizational skills with an ability to think on their feet in a busy office setting. You desire to provide high quality service and constantly work to improve the efficiency of workflow and systems process. Education is important but our priority is character and skill. This position would likely suit a graduate from a bookkeeping program with at least two years of direct experience and moderate Excel-skills (i.e. good understanding of functions and formulae).

You present yourself professionally and know how to work well with people from varied backgrounds. We are in the midst of change, and therefore, you are able to navigate change calmly and with a sense of humour. You are able to bring tasks to full completion and understand the importance of accuracy.
Fluency in written and spoken English in a professional setting is a requirement. An ability to speak, read and write Cantonese, Mandarin and/or Spanish is an asset since some of our programs are geared towards the Chinese and Spanish Christian community. The ability to work on the weekend is an asset as well.

Compensation shall include a starting salary of $31,000 to $37,000 per year with increases based on qualifications, experience and performance. A comprehensive benefits package after three months of employment includes:
