The Mustard Seed Edmonton is committed to helping people who are homeless transition toward and maintain sustainable and healthy lifestyles. The purpose of Housing Plus is to re-house those currently experiencing homelessness and to offer our best in support, services, and programming to ensure lasting change. This is to be accomplished by involving all program areas of The Mustard Seed in the case management process. The Housing Support Worker works collaboratively with all stakeholders and residents of Westwood Manor to review goals and encourage healthy independent living.  





  • Be competent and effective in supporting community members housed in Mustard Seed apartment units,
  • Collaborate with the housing team and community partners to successfully achieve goals set in the housing agreements,
  • Carry a case load and meet with clients on an on-going basis, e.g., once per week to once per month, depending on level of need,
  • Drive clients to various appointments as needed,
  • Connect clients with other services at The Mustard Seed such as Faith Companions,
  • Provide crisis intervention, as necessary,
  • Work with Employment Support Workers to address barriers to employment,
  • Actively connect housed clients with community supports,
  • Thoroughly document client interactions, client referrals and client progress,
  • Conduct client assessments regularly,
  • Actively connect housed clients with community supports,
  • Develop Community Development activities and community connections (including peer support and mentorship programs),
  • Ensure collaboration with other program areas in the case management process,
  • Provide input into program evaluation,
  • Assist with the orientation of volunteers, in conjunction with the Public Education Department,
  • Complete monthly progress reports in collaboration with applicable program areas,
  • Track statistics and prepare internal and external reports, as required,
  • Attend meetings and training, as assigned,
  • Serve on internal and external committees, as requested,
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).






  • Degree/Diploma in Human Services field and two years of related work experience,
  • Experience with case management is considered a strong asset,
  • Experience with Housing First initiatives and ETO experience considered a strong asset,
  • Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office Programs, i.e., Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.,
  • Valid Driver’s License (Class 5),
  • Access to a reliable vehicle,
  • Experience in program development and Permanent Supportive Housing,
  • Preference given to those with experience working with mental health and/or addictions,
  • Demonstrated competency and ability to practice crisis intervention,
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills,
  • A self-starter with the ability to work in a cross-functional team,
  • Ability to accomplish goals with minimal supervision,
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills,
  • Ability to work with confidential information,





  • Full time ( Monday to Friday - 40 hours a week, combination of 7:00 am - 3:00 pm or 3:00 pm -11:00 pm)
  • The position will require ongoing compassionate care, minimal physical effort, conflict resolution and organizational ability while working directly with risk population in life recovery
  • This position requires varied mental and emotional effort and must be able to respond appropriately to intense situations
  • Must have access to own vehicle and Driver’s Abstract is required
  • Employment Security Check is required
