Providing Resources and Independence for Youth Development (PRIYD)

1 year term position

Position Profile/Key Responsibilities

 

Under the direction of the Program Manager, the PRIYD Assistant will:

  • Support the sourcing, recruiting, selecting, hiring and on-boarding initiatives for the PRYID program
  • Work with the Program Manager and Regional Services Coordinators to understand program staffing needs and create and execute recruitment strategies that will attract the best and the brightest candidates
  • Source and engage internal and external applicants for paid and volunteer positions
  • Support the recruitment process for paid and volunteer position
  • Coordinate the on-boarding and training process for new employees
  • Provide administrative and clerical support for new projects developed under PRIYD program
  • Perform other related tasks as directed by the PRIYD Program Manager

Job Specific Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of recruitment and selection process
  • Knowledge of effective employee on-boarding programs
  • Ability to continually seek new sourcing options, and develop creative approaches to sourcing and delivering candidates
  • Ability to proactively network and establish effective working relationships
  • Ability to develop and execute recruiting strategy, including employer promotion in the marketplace, candidate management, diversity sourcing, and interview process management
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively, to prioritize efficiently and to multi-task as workload fluctuates
  • Ability to work with people in a professional, empathetic manner, both in person and over the phone

 

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor, diploma, or certificate in social services, office administration or a related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Minimum three years experience in related position which stresses organization, accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent writing and oral English skills
  • Familiarity with social service organization
  • Computer skills a must: Windows based, MS word, Excel, Publisher
  • Experience with social networking sites (Linkedin, job boards, etc) as tools for recruiting activities
