You will be joining an established Agency that is guided by faith to care for and bring hope to people in need with humility, compassion and respect. With more than 50 years of service delivery, Catholic Social Services is one of the largest multi-function social services agencies in Canada, with more than 1800 staff, and hundreds of volunteers delivering 130+ programs throughout Central Alberta.

 

The HR Business Partner will combine their in-depth knowledge of human resources to partner with stakeholders in providing timely and effective human resources programs and services. The HR Business Partner will consult on and provide a wide variety of service in areas such as: employee relations, recruitment, workforce planning, organizational effectiveness and compensation. This role also participates in the development and delivery of Corporate HR programs.

 

As a key member of the Human Resources team reporting to the Human Resources Manager the position responsibilities include;

 

  • Provide effective HR services to the service areas, including full cycle Recruitment from sourcing to On-boarding;
  • Provide guidance, counsel and assistance on all employee relations matters to Management and staff as they arise;
  • Provide guidance, counsel and interpretation to Management and employees regarding various corporate programs and policies;
  • Provide advice and interpretation to internal clients regarding disability management matters, including coordinating leaves of absences, return to work, duty to accommodate, etc;
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and best practices that influence HR strategies, policies and procedures;
  • Provide advice and guidance to leaders with respect to managing people and creating a positive culture;
  • Support HR Managers conducting and documenting internal employee investigations and employee relations issues as required;
  • Administration of various critical people processes (onboarding, promotions, transfers, terminations, etc.);

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five (5) or more years of solid, complex and relevant professional Human Resource experience in a generalist role;
  • Post-secondary education in human resources management; CPHR would be an asset;
  • Proven ability to work effectively with key business stakeholders;
  • Exceptional communications skills and capable of interactions with all levels of internal and external stakeholders;
  • Knowledge of all relevant trends, in-depth comprehension of employment law and human rights;
  • A seasoned practitioner who is able to work with minimal supervision;
  • Knowledge of disability management practices and processes is advantageous;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Team oriented with highly effective relationship building and leadership skills;
  • Demonstrate a high attention to detail;
  • Self-motivated, energetic team player, able to work well under pressure;

Ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives with a sense of urgency;
