Our client, the Kidney Foundation of MB is looking for an outgoing, motivated, and engaging individual to join their team and volunteers in the role of Fund Development Manager.

 

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Fund Development Manager is responsible for the general oversight and the day to day operation of all fund development activities that will cultivate new donor relationships, sustain and strengthen existing ones, and build support in the areas of Major, Individual, and Corporate Gifts, as well as Planned Giving, and all Kidney Foundation fundraising events and programs.

This role is meant for an individual who encourages and looks to implement change where doing so will mean success. The ideal candidate would thrive in an environment of growth, opportunity, and creativity and eventually sees themselves as the possible Executive Director, if that is where his/her career aspirations are.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, leads, and executes the annual fund development plan, policies and goals to achieve the fundraising objectives of the organization
  • Seeks out opportunities for new funding sources, proposal/grant submissions, identifies prospects, and develops appropriate solicitation strategies
  • Manages the fund development program budget
  • Establishes collaborative relationships with community groups, funders, donors, and other stakeholders to achieve the goals of the foundation
  • Manages all donor recognition programs and stewardship through effective communication
  • Directs, supports, motivates, coaches, and develops staff and volunteers in achieving the mission and goals of the foundation
  • Oversees the maintenance of the donor database, including prospect and donor research
  • Works collaboratively with the regional and national branches of The Kidney Foundation
  • Oversees Major, Individual, and Corporate Gifts, as well as Planned Giving
  • Identifies, develops, directs, coordinates, and evaluates related marketing strategies based on objectives and goals
  • Plans, coordinates, and participates in all events and campaigns

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working in a not-for-profit organization
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in fund development
  • Experience planning and executing fundraising activities (special events) as budgeted
  • Proven track record of prospect identification, solicitation, and stewardship
  • Experience recruiting, engaging, and managing volunteers
  • CFRE certification preferred
  • A post-secondary degree is an asset

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • A self-starter who can create, own, and execute the fund development plan
  • A builder who can cultivate and steward long-standing donor relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Ability to coach, manage, and develop cohesive teams of volunteers
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of database management software (Raiser’s Edge) and Microsoft Office 365
