The Elizabeth Fry Society of Greater Vancouver (EFry) is a charitable organization working with women and girls in conflict with the law, or at risk of being in conflict with the law. We operate more than two dozen programs servicing marginalized women in efforts to break the cycle of poverty, addiction, affects resulting from mental illness, homelessness and criminalization.

 

We are looking for a highly motivated, well-qualified Payroll and Benefits Administrator to join our Finance Team at our administration offices in New Westminster to process payroll and benefits and assist the Finance Team ensuring compliance with legislation and organization policies and procedures under the supervision of the Finance Director. 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Processing payroll on a bi-weekly basis for 100+ union and non-union employees, experience with collective agreements an asset
  • Maintaining employee records and timesheets in Ceridian and Dayforce HCM, including setting up new employees, processing changes and terminations
  • Responding in a timely manner to payroll queries from employees, management, and external parties
  • Administering and maintaining group benefits and pension plans, including submission of new enrollments, changes, and terminations
  • Preparing monthly reconciliation and remittances for group insurance and pension plans, MSP, WCB, and other remittances directly relating to payroll including ROE filing and preparation of T4’s and summaries
  • Preparing payroll journal and other journal entries in ACCPAC and reconciling ACCPAC Payroll accounts
  • Processing manual pay cheques or exception pay
  • Processing of A/R, A/P, and petty cash requests
  • Processing the month end duties and year end audits
  • Special projects and ad hoc analysis and reporting

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) certification is preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience with full cycle payroll processing
  • 1-2 years’ experience using Ceridian and Dayforce HCM
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Knowledge with ACCPAC (Sage300) is preferred
  • Familiarity with pension plans is an asset
  • Post-Secondary education in accounting or payroll
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workloads under tight deadlines
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong technical, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and judgement in the management of confidential information
