Recently our agency has been selected as one of the 22 pilots for the implementation for $25 a day child care by the Alberta Government and will be opening an Early Learning and Child Care program. This position is for a passionate, energetic, dynamic leader to become the Manager of our organization’s first Early Learning and Child Care Centre.

 

Reporting to the Director, Program Operations, the Manager will oversee the establishment of the Early Learning and Child Care Centre. The dynamic individual will bring expertise and knowledge with accreditation processes, and licensing regulations, and be an experienced leader to child care staff.

 

Responsibilities:

Program Development & Delivery:

  • Complete an Application for a Child Care License
  • Research and write the program plan, staffing plan, and administrative policies and procedures relating to the child care program that are in compliance with the regulatory requirements, Accreditation Standards, and organizational policies
  • Oversee the development of the child care program which will include ordering equipment, furniture, materials and toys
  • Arrange for and oversee the inspections of the premises to ensure compliance with applicable zoning, health and safety regulations
  • Research and write job descriptions for the child care program staff
  • Complete the Pre-Accreditation Funding Grant Application
  • Oversee the recruitment and retention of qualified staff to meet the needs of children and parents
  • Alignment of program goals to agency strategic plan, program outcomes and mission achievement
  • Ensure administration and operation of program aligns with Alberta Government regulations; Licensing and Accreditation
  • Mentor, lead, and develop the Early Learning and Child Care team

Financial:

  • Responsible for financial operations of the Early Learning and Child Care Centre
  • Work in collaboration with agency finance department
  • Develop and monitor annual operating budget

Qualifications:

  • Post- secondary education in human services or early learning and child care
  • Eligible for Child Development Supervisor qualifications Alberta Government
  • Knowledgeable about legislation and regulations related to Child Care Regulations and Alberta Association for the Accreditation of Early Learning and Care Services
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills necessary to prioritize and accomplish concurrent priorities.
  • A high degree of initiative and self- motivation along with strong decision-making skills and the ability to involve others in activities or decisions where required.
  • Experience with software packages such as Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word
  • Exceptional inter-personal and communication skills

Compensation: $52,361.40 to $62,007.40 annually based on education and experience. We offer a comprehensive, competitive, extended health benefits package including RRSP contribution.
