The Opportunity


A newly enhanced role, the Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer is responsible for coordinating the delivery of support services related to the efficient management of finance, food services, housekeeping, laundry, purchasing, plant and maintenance to client, tenants and residents living in multi-site environments. As a member of the senior leadership team and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful incumbent will build upon the success of the organization as a creative strategic leader promoting quality and innovation of finance, operations, people and information systems. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities
   

  • Provide leadership and oversight for all operations and systems;
  • Oversee and manage accounting and finance functions;
  • Lead financial analysis and reporting;
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures and effective work practices;
  • Maintain positive working relationships and communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders including Board members, the WRHA, leadership team and direct reports;
  • Ensure services are well managed in accordance with the vision, mission and values; and
  • Follow standards outlined in Infection Control Manual, Emergency Preparedness Manual, WHMIS and WPSH policies and procedures. 

 

Selection Criteria
    

  • 5+ years of senior management experience with 10+ years progressive management experience;
  • CPA designation;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or related discipline; MBA desirable;
  • Demonstrate knowledge of public sector accounting;
  • Continuing education in human resources, health care administration and/or information technology is a definite asset;
  • Ability to think strategically in a complex, evolving work environment;
  • Ability to financially assess investments, process improvements, cost containments and business opportunities;
  • Change management and organizational transformation;
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and decision-making abilities; and
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken French and English.
