A newly-constituted main street Business Improvement Association (BIA) requires a part-time BIA Coordinator.


Reporting to the Board of Management, through the Chair (and/or Designate), the individual will make use of his/her expertise and knowledge of both public and private sector resources to assist the Board in fulfilling the BIA’s goals.

The Individual shall:

  • Attend and provide support services for all Board and committee meetings
  • Execute all administrative functions of the daily operations of the BIA
  • Assist in the coordination of joint partnerships between the BIA, the City and other stakeholders
  • Complete other Duties that may arise through new Association direction
  • Assist the Chair in performing his duties

The Individual must:

  • Be skilled in Project Administration
  • Possess excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Be highly organized, self-motivated and possess basic computer skills, bookkeeping/ accounting and social media skills
  • Have some knowledge of municipal government structure and operation.

Working with the Chair (and/or Designate and other Board Members as required from time to time), the BIA Coordinator will, in addition to the duties outlined above, be responsible for administering the BIA Annual Events, researching alternative association funding opportunities, assisting Association members as may be required (fielding enquiries etc.), liaising with City staff where necessary.

North York, Ontario. Available immediately. Annual contract with the opportunity for contract extensions. Competitive remuneration (commensurate with experience).
