Position Summary:  As Development Outreach Assistant, you are a highly-motivated, outgoing and passionate communicator about environmental causes.  You should be fearless in asking for donations and support for the oldest and most respected environmental charity in BC.  You should have experience coordinating volunteers and organizing small events. This is a contract position based in Vancouver.

Working with our Outreach Coordinator, responsibilities will include: 

  • Promote the Sierra Club BC fundraising campaigns through social media
  • Work with Development staff as needed
  • Door to Door canvassing for new members
  • Telemarketing our existing list of donors and supporters
  • Data Entry of donor information into CRM database
  • Promote our work at community events by staffing a Sierra Club BC table and helping to coordinate volunteers
  • Liaise with the Sierra Club BC communications department as needed
  • Liaise with the Sierra Club BC’s local volunteers as needed
  • Organize membership events
  • Other outreach and development tasks as agreed to with supervisor


  • Experience managing social media networks, including daily content and strategies
  • Proven track record in outreach, development and event planning
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Friendly, outgoing, energetic, creative, and cheerful with staff and public
  • Ability to represent Sierra Club BC in a professional manner
  • Ability to organize time, work independently, take initiative and be responsible for moving multiple projects forward simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), database skill, internet, social media
  • Bonus points for experience using Salesforce and Causeview CRM database
  • Working Conditions: Willingness to have a flexible work schedule, occasional evenings and/or weekends.



This is a $16/hr (30 hours per week) contract position based in Vancouver.
