ENSEMBLE for the respect of diversity is a non-profit organization whose mission is to work with youth in order to build a more inclusive society for all.

 

We are currently looking for a workshop facilitator to co-facilitate a series of workshops that focus on the varying forms of diversity and discrimination found within society.  These workshops are offered to high school students (ages 15-18) and explore themes such as privilege, sexism and consent, racism and cultural/religious diversity, homophobia and sexual diversity, as well as highlight the importance of denouncing discrimination however possible. These workshops are offered to schools across Quebec and Canada.

 

The selected candidates will:

  • Co-facilitate interactive workshops in English and in French for high school students aged 15 to 18 years old, on diversity, prejudice and discrimination.
  • Research and write comprehensive reports.
  • Coordinate logistics of workshops in schools.
  • Solicit high schools in order to offer our services;
  • Participate in the various projects and activities of ENSEMBLE for the respect of diversity.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or University diploma in social sciences, social work, education, or a related field of study. Good knowledge of the notions of discrimination and diversity are necessary.
  • Experience working with youth and/or facilitating group discussions with youth aged 14-18.
  • Dynamism, professionalism and a sense of responsibility.
  • Interest and/or experience in intercultural intervention.
  • Flexibility in scheduling (variable working hours, sometimes including evenings and weekends).
  • Availability to travel outside of Montreal for several consecutive days.
  • Excellent research and writing skills in either English or French (or both!).
  • Mastery of spoken English and French.
  • Mandatory driver’s licence as you will be asked to drive daily (vehicle provided).
  • Ability to motivate youth to make a difference in their communities.
  • Personal engagement to promote inclusion and respect for diversity in all its forms. 

 

Full-time (35h/week), contractual position from September 5th 2017 to June 8th, 2018. Possibility of renewal. Salary of 16$/hour.  Employment start date: September 5th, 2017.
