The Welcome Centre is a non-profit organization that initiates, organizes and launches programs, services and events for newcomers, immigrants and refugees in order to ease their settlement and blending in with the Canadian Society.


Job Description:


Under the direct supervision of the Manager of the Welcome Centre, we are looking to hire 2 Support Administrators to run or support programs, services and events and shall assume accountability for the results in achieving the outlined goals and objectives of all responsibilities and duties. The incumbent is primarily responsible to work with the office administrator to meet inquiries of front line contacts, a variety of community members, and stakeholders who require active problem solving and effective interpersonal skills. Some early morning, evening and weekend work is required.


Job Duties and Responsibilities will include:

- support the development, delivery, and promotion of services offered through the We Care Canada Program;
- deal with shifting priorities, ensuring that all information is produced within deadlines in a professional, accurate manner;
- collaborate with Welcome Centre Office Administrator and other team members to effective execution of initiatives;
- receive, record, and sort all donations;
- engage with key stakeholders (internal and external) in the work and results of the Welcome Centre initiatives;
- where appropriate, participate in meetings with all staff working in the Welcome Centre


Basic requirements of the position



- Completion of Grade 12


- Relevant experience is an asset but not required


Skills & Competencies


- Basic to intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability and flexibility to manage time and priorities effectively
- Ability to apply initiative and creativity when approaching challenges
- Strong communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality

Language Requirements

Fluency in English is required
Fluency in Arabic is preferred but not required.
