For more than 100 years, Scouts Canada has brought a world of adventure, outdoor experience, friendship and fun to 17 million Canada youth. We have reinvigorated our programs to meet the changing demands of youth and are looking for someone who has experience in providing administrative support and assistance to the Service Centre team in maximizing the value of the Scouts Canada property portfolio.


Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, Properties and in support of the existing Scouting program and the Principals and Practices of Scouting, this position provides administration, initiative and expertly executes the collection and organization of materials and documents in support of the National Property Accreditation initiative for Scouts Canada.


Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Collecting data from all properties for the Property Standards initiative.
  • Filing data for all properties electronically in the National database.
  • Tracking all data collected in the National Properties database.
  • Preparing status reports regarding the progress of submitted data in the National properties database.
  • Ensuring consistent formatting of information for all continuing business strategies, scorecards and business plans for all properties.
  • Working with the Operations Manager to assist with phone and email follow up of property standards issues and their resolution.
  • Supporting the submission of reports and recommendations and tracking their progress through the various Provincial and National property committees and boards.
  • Ensuring that property volunteers and staff understand the formal procedures and steps for reporting, requesting, purchasing, leases, sale and donations regarding property matters.
  • Assisting with revenue generation initiatives.
  • Many other duties as they arise.

Education, Experience & Skills

  • A self-starter with innate initiative
  • Exemplary computer skills - Excel and file systems management 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excessively detail oriented
  • Organized in the approach and prioritizing of work
  • Enjoys both working alone and as part of a high functioning team 
  • Customer service focused with a caring demeanor
  • Completes high volumes of diverse tasks daily
  • Adheres to deadlines, but often will beat them  
  • Is an intelligent practical thinker
  • Ability to leap tall buildings in a single bound is desired, but not required. 
  • Completion of college diploma or post-secondary diploma/certificate in a related field
  • Two to three years successful experience in a similar support role
  • Adherence to the Scouts Canada code of conduct
  • Vulnerable Sector Screening
