This is a seven week posting, working 30 hours per week between June 19, 2017 and finishing no later than August 26, 2017.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

 

  • Provide administrative support and job search information to general public.
  • Respond to enquiries from the public, clients and referring agents.
  • Provide appropriate services to clients to ensure needs are met within established parameters.
  • Produce correspondence, statistical and final program reports, minutes and other written materials.
  • Establish and maintain client files.
  • Assist in maintaining client databases.
  • Maintain office supplies.
  • Supports clients in administrative worksites.
  • Provide occasional backup support to training instructors.
  • May assist in marketing campaigns, telephone enquiries and mail-outs.
  • Takes responsibility for understanding and addressing safety issues for the job and equipment operated.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Experience in an office setting.
  • Proficient computer skills using current word processing and database software packages.
  • Well-organized individual, a team player, flexible, with strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Between 15 – 30 years of age.
  • Presently a student and planning on return to school.
  • Must be willing to follow all safety regulations and procedures.

To be eligible, students must:

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
  • have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year;
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act2; and,
  • be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
