WE Leadership seeks a dynamic individual to empower thousands of youth with positive messages of social justice and action. The role will deliver our signature WE Indigenous focused programs for self-identified Indigenous and non-indigenous youth. This will require candidates to have a deep understanding and broad knowledge of Canadian Indigenous traditions and culture. Candidates should have experience working in and collaborating with Indigenous communities, while also possessing the skills to act in both administrative and frontline roles for multiple youth leadership programs delivered by WE.
This individual must be passionate and committed to the core beliefs of the organization—the WE.org Philosophy.
The position is based out of WE’s office in Toronto.  
Your Impacts:
Public Speaking and Facilitation:

  • Ability to research, write and deliver speeches and presentations focused on social justice issues (local and global) and themes of youth empowerment and leadership. 
  • Candidates must be dynamic, engaging speakers and facilitators with the ability to interact effectively with a variety of people from different backgrounds and ages.
  • Ability to plan, create and deliver leadership and social justice focused workshops, where participants learn through experiential education techniques
  • Developing and delivering Indigenous programming to meet the needs of Canada’s Indigenous communities. On Average the programming will be for 15-30 people within 2-8 hours time frames. 

Engagement Skills:

  • Ability to build an understanding of the different WE products and experiences and engage youth and adult stakeholders in these opportunities.
  • Preparing, distributing and explaining materials (promotional, program, youth resources, and other) as well as building rapport with youth, educators and a variety of other stakeholders.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with youth, educators and parents using organizational CRM tools and constant contact follow-up

Administrative Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities within tight deadlines
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with youth, educators and parents using organizational CRM tools and client management techniques
  • Ability to collect and capture reporting requirements on programming impacts for WE and stakeholders
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in accordance with WE’s safety policies and trip standard operating procedures while leading groups of 30 youth on international service trips overseas.

Positive, flexible and enthusiastic:

  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally approximately 75% of the time
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced and challenging work environment while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Exercises good judgment when working with youth and is a positive role model for young people

What you bring:

  • Experience with outreach, coordination and collaboration with Indigenous community leaders to develop meaningful programming
  • Past experience working in youth programming such as: summer camp, afterschool programs, coaching sports, tutoring and/or teaching, involvement with post-secondary education student government, clubs, teams etc.
  • Experience with monitoring and evaluation procedures to measure program’s impact
  • Educated on all WE youth programming opportunities, ability to engage youth, educators and parents in more WE opportunities 
  • Knowledge of different Indigenous cultures, traditions and perspectives
  • A passionate interest in social justice issues and the motivation to continue their interests in learning more about social justice issues.
  • Highly adaptable and flexible candidates are who are flexible with schedules changing, and working with multiple people to deliver quality programming.


  • Working knowledge of two or more languages
  • Writing, playing and/or performing music, art, drama, spoken word etc. 
  • Willingness to travel, valid passport
  • Valid G class Driver’s license
