The Position:

Title: Social Worker                                                                        Job Type: Full Time                            

Commences: July 1st, 2017 to April 30th, 2018

 

Catholic Family Service is seeking a passionate social worker who loves working systemically with young parents and their children. The social worker reports to the Supervisor of the Counselling and Social Support Services Team at Catholic Family Service - Louise Dean Centre.  This position requires a self-starter, and a mature and energetic individual to be part of the team to deliver wrap around services to pregnant and parenting adolescents, their children, partners and families in a school setting.

 

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor Degree in Social Work with two to three years of related experience
  • Registration with ACSW require, authorized to perform restricted psychosocial interventions preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance

  

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong assessment, counseling, group facilitation and case management skills
  • Two to three years’ experience with motivational interviewing and trauma informed practice
  • Knowledge and experience with group in home visitation
  • Knowledge of domestic violence, addictions and mental health issues in youth
  • Knowledge and experience as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including the occasional evening
