Our client, The Arthritis Society, is currently seeking a Fund Development Manager to lead their major gifts and individual giving initiatives in Manitoba and Nunavut.

 

Reporting to the Development Director - Prairie Division, the Fund Development Manager works closely with the Regional Manager, promoting collaboration with all team members in ensuring the effective execution of all fund raising activities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a sound major gift and individual donor plan aligned with business plan goals
  • Lead the Individual Giving program including Planned Giving
  • Develop corporate partnerships and demonstrate excellent customer service practice
  • Assist the Regional Manager with Walk sponsorships and Foundation grants as required
  • Facilitate the ongoing stewardship of donors to maintain and support a positive image for The Society
  • Maintain communication locally and with Prairie fund development team
  • Support Regional Manager with all fundraising activities as required

Experience & Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree with a minimum of five years’ experience in fund development with at least two years experience within a management role
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing an integrated fund development program including major gifts, planned giving, annual giving and special events
  • Knowledge and experience with individual, corporate and foundation solicitations
  • Capacity to work easily and effectively with a wide range of people, build relationships, be articulate and engaging and possess interpersonal skills to relate to and motivate prospective donors
  • Proven ability to inspire, motivate, mentor and develop staff and volunteers
  • Excellent time management, communication, decision-making, presentation and organizational skills
  • Ability to represent The Arthritis Society’s mission, vision, goals, and fund development program with the highest professional standards
  • Proficient computer skills, experience with Raiser’s Edge an asset
