Position:                      Employment Outreach Specialist / Job Developer
Salary Range:             $43,000 - $47,611  
Term:                          Current Date – August 31, 2018

Scope and Purpose
The Employment Outreach Specialist (EOS) prospects employment opportunities for a diverse client base of job seekers with disabilities. The EOS works in a team setting with the Employment Coordinator, jobseekers with disabilities, and employers, focusing on securing employment opportunities and engaging business stakeholders. The EOS is a dynamic self-motivated individual able to establish and maintain relationships with business stakeholders from a variety of industries.  


Accountabilities: 
In coordination with the Employment Coordinator, the Employment Outreach Specialist achieves or exceeds established site targets by the completion of the project.   
The targets are reflective of a 3 year period and are shared between all 10 program site locations. Quarterly targets for each site will be established.  The program targets are identified below. 

1535 Clients Served  
1535 Clients will enhance their employability, and 
992 Clients will become employed, self-employed, or return to school 


General Duties: 

  • Prospect, develop and identify appropriate employment opportunities for eligible clients  
  • Completes detailed analyses of job opportunities based on needs identified by each client and establishes a  connection with appropriate employers 
  • Works with employers to understand their hiring needs and priority in order to make successful employment matches 
  • Coordinates and supports job interviews for clients 
  • Researches job opportunities and provides job development services to participants with labour market information, job opportunities and connections to employers 
  • Uses wage subsidy as an effective recruitment and return to work tool  
  • Completes all required wage subsidy and employment maintenance paper work in a timely and accurate manner 
  • Provides direct support to clients and employers entering new employment opportunities while communicating and documenting information  
  • Works with Employers and the site Employment Coordinator to ensure accommodations are developed and implemented for clients with disabilities entering the workforce  
  • Ensures site specific targets are reached each Quarter and provides input for the ongoing improvement of the site’s performance 
  • Liaise, conduct outreach and market the program with other community agencies/employers, service providers and government departments. 
  • Individually, and in conjunction with the Employment Coordinator, establish, develop and maintain working relationships with employers through employer forums, individual and group presentations with a view to securing employment for clients and promoting the areas such as accessibility, and the business case for inclusion.   
  • Development and continual engagement of a Business Advisory Committee (BAC)  
  • Execution and organization of Business Engagement events  
  • Travel as required to complete all aspects of project implementation and client employment maintenance follow-up.  
  • Completes all necessary office details to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the project.  
  • In compliance with CCRW and Service Canada policy, completes standard reporting documentation such as information tracking, and expense claim reporting.  
  • Supports the Employment Coordinator in the submission and management of Participant Information Forms (PIF) notably in the reporting of employment maintenance checkpoints at 3, 6 and 12 months.   
  • Other duties as assigned by the Partners Management Team  
     
    Qualifications: 
    Direct sales or job development experience 
    Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and capable of taking initiative 
    Must posses a results-oriented attitude towards achieving outcomes 
    Commitment to inclusion and familiarity with the business case for inclusion  
    Strong verbal and communications skills  
    Demonstrated innovative problem solving, organizational, marketing and interpersonal skills 
    Ability to work variable hours  
    A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle  
    Proficiency with Office 365 & MS Office 2016
