Our client, the Kidney Foundation of MB is looking for an outgoing, motivated, and engaging individual to join their team in the role of Major Gifts & Planned Giving Officer.

 

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Major Gifts & Planned Giving Officer is responsible for securing major gifts and developing the planned giving function.  The Major Gifts & Planned Giving Officer will have a successful track record in relationship building and securing major donations, with the outstanding ability to manage complex situations, integrate donor interests with the Kidney Foundation’s priorities, and to motivate and inspire various key stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the full scope of development activities relating to the discovery, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of planned donors and major gifts
  • Work with colleagues to secure appropriate project information
  • Track activities through formal call reports and update donor information in the donor database
  • Create monthly reports as required by management that accurately reflect activity and performance
  • Participate in department budget and goal setting strategic sessions
  • Attend and participate at donor cultivation and stewardship events as required

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in major gifts and planned giving
  • Proven track record of prospect identification, solicitation, and stewardship
  • CFRE certification preferred
  • A post-secondary degree is an asset
  • A self-starter who can create, own, and execute the fund development plan
  • A builder who can cultivate and steward long-standing donor relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning
  • Strong presentation, communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of database management software (Raiser’s Edge) and Microsoft Office 365
