HIV Edmonton is an inclusive and dynamic community-based charitable organization devoted to ZERO; zero new HIV transmissions, zero stigma and discrimination and zero AIDS related deaths.


Main Responsibilities: The Director of Programs & Services oversees the delivery of innovative programs and services that provide support, outreach and education to individuals living with, affected by and at risk of HIV, HCV and related STBBI. This position supervises a team of six staff and is responsible for program grants, outputs, outcomes, financial, evaluation and program development.  The Director of Programs & Services works collaboratively with agency staff, funders and community organizations to develop and nurture linkages in order to facilitate the achievement of HIV Edmonton’s vision and mission. This position reports to the Executive Director and is one of 4 Lead Team Members.

  • University degree (preferable Master’s level) and a minimum of 5 years direct experience in program management including; client case management, program development, implementation and evaluation, facilitation of community education activities, formal reporting and budgeting.
  • Exceptional staff supervision skills required.
  • Excellent organizational skills, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Competency in computer software/databases including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) is preferred.
  • Ability to build relationships, communicate effectively, focus on strength-based practices, foster teamwork, make decisions, and have good organizing, planning and research skills and a strong ability to generate positive opportunities are all essential to making this position fun and exciting.
