POSITION: FASD Keyworker – Permanent Part-Time
CURRENT LOCATION: FASD Keyworker Program - Surrey
CURRENT HOURS: 21 hours per week
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Keyworker will provide coordination of services to family, case conferencing, education, planning, supportive advice, linkage to other community supports, and facilitation of parent to parent support mechanisms. The Keyworker will be will be working directly with children, youth, and their caregivers. The Keyworker must possess strong knowledge of FASD and other complex behavioural conditions, excellent communication and advocacy skills, ability to work with ministry structures and staff in MCFD, Health, and Child and Youth Mental Health, as well as families and other community agencies. Provision of some group services may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree with specialized training and a minimum two years’ experience working with FASD clients in the field, particularly children and youth
• Must possess a valid BC driver’s license with clean driving record, and use of own vehicle required.
• Criminal record check required
KNOWLEDGE OF THE FOLLOWING:
• Developmental psychology: Solid foundational knowledge of FASD in particular
• Case management and Integrated Case Management
• Group theory and practice
• MCFD and community resources for youth and families
• Behaviour management strategies pertaining to FASD and developmental disorders an asset
• Working knowledge of substance use and addiction issues

START DATE: AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY
SALARY: $22.44 - $26.52 per hour
