MOSAIC is new to fundraising. We are seeking a Senior Development Officer with an entrepreneurial spirit to actively build long term relationships and inspire community investment that will help support thousands of immigrants and refugees. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Fund Development, the Senior Development Officer will be responsible for developing a program and relationships for major and planned gifts, mini-campaigns, and corporate giving. The Senior Development Officer works to identify, solicit and steward gifts in support of the organization’s mission and will be directly responsible for specific donation targets. 


Primary Duties:

  1. Develops and implements a strategic business plan for achieving the long-term fundraising goals of the major gift, planned gift and corporate portfolios in discussion with the Senior Manager, Fund Development and others on the team

  2. Plans and implements effective major gift strategies, engaging prospects and donors through all stages of the donor cycle and ensuring that donors are adequately stewarded

  3. Strategizes, develops and implements a plan to engage, solicit and steward corporate partners
  4. Strategizes and implements planned giving asks and stewardship from existing donors
  5. Networks in the community and within the organization to identify and grow relationships and develop a prospect pool
  6. Develops and implements mini-campaigns; including developing specific case for support materials, strategies to engage multiple donor groups, marketing and recognition opportunities

  7. Participates in the Leadership Council, working with senior volunteers to advance major  gift relationships with advice, networking and building capacity

  8. Assists in leadership through coaching members of the MOSAIC team

  9. Reviews and monitors cash flows and variances

  10. Prepares statistical reports for planning purposes

  11. Adheres to ethical fundraising practices and policies


  • 5+ years of experience in a generalist-related function, 3+ years of specialized donor experiences in major and/or corporate giving
  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English, organizational planning, strategic thinking, problem-solving, persuasiveness, tactful and diplomatic 
  • Access to a personal vehicle required
  • Criminal Record Check required


Skill Set


We are looking for a creative self-starter who is driven to help individuals and corporations enthusiastically engage in their support of life-changing programs for the community. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to establish purposeful relationships with donors and develop effective program strategies. Tobeasuccessfulinthis role, you must have a university degree, along with a minimum of five years of experience in fundraising, corporate relations, and the not for profit sector.  Proven experience in securing major gift and corporate funding is required.


This position may have unsupervised access to vulnerable adults or children. Therefore, the successful candidate must provide a current criminal record check as a condition of employment.


This position requires the incumbent to drive to meetings. Therefore, the successful candidate must have access to a vehicle.
