Position/Poste: Community Support Leader (CSL) Full-Time variable hours - Assisted Living Services and Homemaking Services for Seniors

 

Duties/Fonctions:

  • Provide leadership in the efficient and safe delivery of Independent Living (IL) services to seniors.
  • Lead a group of attendants and homemaking staff in providing assistance to consumers with non-medical activities of daily living and homemaking services.
  • Assist the Community Support Supervisor in ensuring that schedules are developed according to the consumer’s plan of service.
  • Using the electronic Quatro Scheduling system, to develop and revise ongoing consumer and staff master schedules in accordance with consumer service and budgeted hours.
  • Assist in the renewal and management of consumer service agreements.
  • Ensure the orientation, continuous goal setting, problem solving and service planning with consumers.
  • Provide orientation and on the job training to newly hired attendants and homemaking staff and to provide ongoing leadership and coaching.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities.
  • Display diplomacy with consumers, staff, other service centers and agencies
  • Manage change in a constructive and positive fashion
  • Service delivery resolution and handle conflict resolution• Travel is required. 

 

Qualifications/Compétences requises:

  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Experience in Health Care and/or experience with older adults (55+) or adults with age related health conditions and/or disabilities
  • Ability to lead and train staff
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution and problem solving skills
  • A team player that has the ability to accept responsibility, and to cooperate and communicate with others to accomplish goals
  • Knowledge of and abilities in transferring, lifting, bowel and bladder routines and other attendant care duties Knowledge of working with seniors
  • Knowledge of issues concerning physical disabilities
  • Knowledge of behaviour management principles
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
  • General understanding of computer hardware and software
  • Proven consistency in work performance, including reliability and flexibility
  • Ability to work varied shifts (days, evenings, weekends)
  • Physical Demands Self Analysis Required upon hire
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
