Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Salesforce Project Manager is responsible for supporting the information technology strategy by leading or assisting in the planning, implementation and introduction of projects for our Salesforce CRM and its related applications. The Project Manager is responsible for business solution definition, technical recommendations, testing, and project execution in support of the organization’s technical initiatives and strategies. The Project Manager provides leadership and direction for the project team while ensuring development of products and services to customer requirements are within the specified resources. This is a contract role initially scheduled to run 1 year with the potential for extension.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads the planning and/or implementation of Salesforce-related projects to accomplish project goals within constraints such as time, cost and agreed quality standards
  • Manages project budget and resource allocation
  • Manages vendor relationships to ensure good relationships, prompt communications and a firm understanding of the Society’s needs.
  • Manages project personnel responsible for implementation of the project tasks.
  • Proactively manages change in project scope, identifies potential crises and develops contingency plans.
  • Determines the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyzes results and troubleshoots problem areas.
  • Manages/schedules tasks, deadlines and milestones for all stakeholders and resources
  • Defines project success criteria and disseminates to all involved parties throughout the project life cycle.
  • Conducts project post mortems and creates a project close out report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Develops requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.
  • Works with functional areas to develop efficient business processes
  • Drives and challenges business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
  • Collaborates with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
  • Develops and facilitates users through both formal and informal training programs.
  • Leads testing efforts.
  • Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Works with client personnel to identify required changes and communicates needed changes to development team.
  • Delivers informative, well-organized presentations.
  • Manages the process of innovative change
  • Manages staff and volunteer expectations effectively.

Qualifications:

  • College diploma or university degree in business, commerce or information technology with at least 3 years related experience or the equivalent experience and education.
  • Project Management or Business Analyst Certification or working towards such certification is required.
  • Experience with Salesforce configuration and custom development is required
  • Salesforce Administrator certification, Salesforce Service Cloud Consultant certification an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Ability to communicate technical matters clearly in lay terms for full comprehension by non-technical users
  • Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
  • Possesses understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design.
  • Proficient with Internet, Intranet, Extranet and client/server architectures.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how legacy and web-based systems interface.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, including the proven ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment and manage multiple projects
  • Identifies critical issues with ease
  • Exhibits confidence and an extensive knowledge of emerging industry practices when solving business problems
  • Pushes creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing industry practices and client mindsets
  • Ability to generates enthusiasm among team members
  • French language skills an asset

Special Considerations:

  • Office setting with occasional travel
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends
