North Shore ConneXions Society is accepting applications from professional Residential Care Workers.

We are an accredited, mid-sized, non-profit organization that provides a variety of community living services to people with intellectual disabilities. 

Our vision is a community where all people with disabilities have equal opportunities to lead active, fulfilling lives and are recognized as contributing members of the community.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The role of a Residential Care Worker is to support individuals with intellectual disabilities in their homes and in the community. 

This includes, but is not limited to:

- Preparing healthy meal choices for and with clients
- Medication management, administration and all required documentation
- Support through personal care routines
- Housekeeping, the practice of universal precautions and the use of personal protective equipment
- Working as a positive role model
- Supporting meaningful community inclusion and integration 
- Facilitating the involvement of clients' family and friends
- Administrative duties including computerized logs and reports, and accountability of both program and client funds

Additional Skills:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities in residential and community settings
- Experience working with people with challenging behaviours
- Experience/formal training in augmentative communication
- Knowledge of safe handling of individuals, and equipment including lifts
- Ability to support individuals during community activities

Hiring Requirements:

- Two or three professional references (from a manager or supervisor)
- Class 4 or 5 BCDL (Class 7 is not accepted) and submission of the driver's abstract
- Emergency or standard first aid with CPR/AED training
- Criminal record check (through the Ministry of Justice) and a tuberculosis screening clearance
- Medical approval to work

Set your own availability, work part time, full time, days, evenings and/or overnights

•Posting #1736 - Part Time Residential Care Worker 
- 17 hours/week
- Days of work are Friday - Sunday
- Friday shift is 4:30 pm - 9:30 pm; Sat - Sun shifts are 11:00 am - 5:00 pm

•Posting # 1737 - Part Time Residential Care Worker 
- 15 hours/week
- Days of work are Saturday - Sunday
- 3:00 pm - 10:30 pm

•Posting # 1728 - Part Time Residential Care Worker 
- 13 hours/week
- Days of work are Saturday - Sunday
- 8:30 am - 3:00 pm

•Posting # 1738 - Full Time Residential Care Worker - Day Program
- 37.5 hours/week
- Days of work are Monday through Friday
- 7:30 am - 3:00 pm

•Posting # 1739 - Part Time Residential Care Worker 
- 19.5 hours/week
- Days of work are Saturday, Sunday, Monday
- Saturday shift - 2:30 pm - 9:30 pm; Sunday shift - 8:00 am - 2:00 pm; Monday shift - 7:30 am - 1:30 pm

- 10 hours/week
- Days of work are Saturday and Sunday
- 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm

•Posting # 1741 - Full Time SENIOR Residential Care Worker *NEW POSITION* 
- 37.5 hours/week
- Days of work are Friday through to Tuesday
- 2:00 pm - 9:30 pm
*in addition to the duties of a RCW, the Senior RCW assists the Program Manager in providing orientation, training, work direction and guidance to the team members. This position also requires to assist with administrative tasks related to the wellbeing of the residents and to the efficient operation of the group home.*

- 16 hours/week
- Days of work are Saturday, Sunday and Monday 
- Saturday and Sunday shift - 9:00 am - 3:00 pm and Monday shift - 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
