SHIP is a Health Service Provider for specialized populations with numerous programs and partnerships. SHIP has numerous programs and partnerships in order to better service clients. Our Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) is a multi disciplinary team of health care professionals comprised of a Program Psychiatrist, Nurses, Peer Specialists, Social Workers, Vocational and Addictions Specialists, Mental Health Clinicians, Community Mental Health Support Workers and an Occupational Therapist.

 

Our Mississauga  Assertive Community Treatment Team (MACTT) is currently seeking an energetic enthusiastic professional to fill the following position: 

 

Mental Health Clinician

(Bargaining Unit Position)

 

All interested applicants must have a strong commitment to the right and ability of each person with a severe and persistent mental illness to live in the community and have access to helpful, adequate, and continuous supports and services.  Skills and competence to establish supportive trusting relationships with persons with severe and persistent mental illness and respect for client rights and personal preferences in treatment are essential. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to carry out rehabilitation and support functions and assist in treatment; substance abuse services; education, support, and consultation to families and significant others; and crisis prevention and intervention. 
  • Must have a strong commitment to the right and ability of each person with a severe and persistent mental illness to live in the community and have access to helpful, adequate, and continuous supports and services.
  • Sharing of shift work and on call duties with other ACT staff is also required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Degree or Diploma in Social Work, Mental Health or related field with a minimum of two year’s related experience.
  • Registration with appropriate professional association is preferred but not required.
  • Must have a valid Ontario driver’s license, and a vehicle with adequate insurance coverage. 
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

 

This is a position working 37.5 hours per week.  This position will require you to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.
