Abbotsford Community Services is seeking a professional Proposal Writer with minimum 3 to 5 years’ end-to-end experience and a proven capacity to deliver high quality proposals. The Candidate should possess project management experience, a clear understanding of how to read RFPs, RFQs and RFIs strategically, and the ability to undertake key responsibilities within a proposal development committee. Core Competencies • Accountability and Dependability • Communication and Interpersonal Skills • Valuing Diversity and Inclusion • Ethics, Integrity, Confidentiality and Trust Functional Competencies • Attention to Detail • Cooperation/Teamwork/Collaboration • Time Management and Adherence to Deadlines • Planning and Organizing, and leading teams • Take Direction and be Fluid with Change • Research and Analysis • Writing Skills and Creativity • Document Design, Editing, Review and Production • Knowledge of Non-Profit and Employment programing • Knowledge of Government Contracting Key Duties and Responsibilities • Be able to break down RFP, RFQ and RFI language and understand it before beginning work on the proposal. • Strong understanding of WORKBC Employment Programs of British Columbia (EPBC), and the performance based service delivery model • Research, review, analyze and compile necessary information, including the nature of the project, budget, objectives, outcomes, deliverables and method of implementation based on RFPs, RFQs and RFIs. • Determine and work in accordance with timetable and project deadline, meeting milestones along the way. • Organize implementation of the proposal project in accordance with budget, timetable and deadline. • Write the proposal from start to finish, including cost proposals, draft editing, executive summaries, organization credentials and conclusions. • Obtain approvals by reviewing proposal with governance team and/or senior management. • Work closely with Fund Development team by developing good working relationships with individuals involved in the proposal writing process. • Ensure proposal is in full compliance with stated RFPs, FRQs and RFIs or requirements as set forth by the government or government contractor. • Review outcome of proposal application with governance team and/or senior management and identify successes and growth areas for reference in regards to future proposal writing projects Qualifications Education and Certification • Bachelors Degree in a relevant field (English, Public Relations, Marketing, Economics, Public Administration or similar.) Experience • 3 to 5 years’ end-to-end experience in proposal writing. • Project management. Knowledge and Skill Set • Knowledge of working within the non-profit sector. • Knowledge of WORKBC EPBC model • Knowledge of government grants and contracting.
