Christian Children’s Fund of Canada (CCFC) is currently recruiting for the following position: Communications Manager


Reporting to the Director, Strategic Communications, this role provides vital integrated communications-management support to meet internal and external communications and branding objectives. The Communications Manager works closely with the Marketing, Major Gifts and Global Operations teams and acts as a key influencer and lead liaison to field communications managers for ongoing resource and content coordination. This requires strategic content management between country offices and the Global Operations team based in Markham, Ontario.

This role is responsible for driving alignment in the creation and coordination of integrated communications plans, deliverables, outputs and performance metrics.


This role includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Instrumental in collaborating with other functional areas in order to author and support an integrated annual work plan for CCFC
  2. Develops communications plans for relevant campaigns that support the organization’s growth as a sector influencer, our volunteer ambassador program, and third-party fundraising
  3. Manages CCFC’s media protocols, creates and executes media relations plans with occasional support from external vendor partners; and acts as a back-up media spokesperson as required
  4. Manages day-to-day relationships with agency and vendor partners, and media/bloggers
  5. Manages and operationalizes CCFC’s social media strategy to increase the organization’s online reach and raise our brand voice
  6. Demonstrates exceptionally well-honed creative writing and editing skills in the areas of targeted media relations, social media platforms, and customer/donor communication
  7. Responsible for liaising, directing and collaborating with the country office communications managers to optimize CCFC’s brand profile and equity
  8. Supports the integrated communications requirements and plans driven by the marketing, major giving and grants teams for donor acquisition and retention to ensure high-impact consistent audience-centric messaging across channels
  9. Ensures a high level of content availability and quality that meets brand appropriate and best practice standards (photos, field stories, reports, video and impact data) for multi-purpose multichannel use
  10. Creates and manages campaigns and project plans in support of CCFC’s business objectives including ChildFund Alliance advocacy campaigns
  11. Manages and monitors social media key performance indicators (KPIs) for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting
  12. Oversees CCFC’s third-party endorsement plan in support of CCFC reputation management

 Required qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or Business
  • Minimum 5 years’ proven experience with significant results achieved in a similar role
  • Excellent interpersonal and public and media relations skills in dealing with media, donors, vendors, and other stakeholders to raise the brand voice of the organization as a sector influencer
  • Excellent editing and writing skills for print and online
  • Expertise in social media, with the ability to identify and act on trends and whitespace in the sector
  • Experience in developing and executing marketing and corporate communications plans
  • Good project management skills including planning, budgeting, risk mitigation, monitoring and analysis
  • Solid understanding of branding and brand management
  • Strong computer skills required; graphic design skills will be a valued asset
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and forge strong partnerships across the organization
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Detail-oriented, organized and thrives in a changing, multi-tasking environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to travel locally and occasional nationally or internationally
  • Ability to speak and/or write in either French or Spanish will be considered an asset
