Internal/External Job posting – Non Union Youth Program Worker

Part time Position



Primary Responsibilities:


  • Reach out to and engage at-risk youth in north Etobicoke ( high schools) in positive activities that promotes their health, well-being, skill development and resiliency by offering afterschool programs such as arts-based activities, community projects, education and recreational
  • Assist Program Coordinator in planning and implementation of youth programs for ages 13 and
  • Supervise, mentor and support youth to facilitate personal, social and educational growth as well as encouraging greater social
  • Ensure and maintain approved standards of practice and policies/procedures.
  • Enhance and promote positive youth development and youth
  • Attend regular training and development
  • Assist youth team in managing facilities and ensure proper program support and staff coverage during program hours.
  • Work collaboratively with youth, parents and other service providers to ensure that youth have access to programs, services and
  • Organize and help deliver special events, programs and activities for youth
  • Fulfil all administrative requirements of

Key Qualifications and Skills:


  • Relevant experience working with youth 13 to 24 years
  • Experience working with diverse youth especially youth within Rexdale/Jamestown
  • Enjoy flexible and varied duties including recreational and life skills programs of the youth
  • Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution
  • Flexible and able to work well independently or as a team
  • Excellent judgment and decision making, a strong sense of professional
  • Ability to flexible hours




  • Vulnerable sector police clearance
  • Valid First Aid and CPR
  • Conflict resolutions and crisis intervention training is an asset


Term: Contract position

Hours: part time, varies depending on after school site. Salary: $14.00 per hour
