Location: Vancouver Salary: Hourly: 10.24-14.25 (+10.67% in lieu of benefits)


You will plan and implement Out of School Time (OST) programming for secondary and elementary students in a given Community Schools Hub which includes the high school and neighbouring elementary schools. You will provide outstanding leadership to implement social recreational programming during the out of school. You will manage and mentor volunteers, who are largely comprised of secondary school students. You report to and work closely with the Community Schools Coordinator to ensure that each program is implemented in a physically and emotionally safe environment and aligns with the program goals. Your effective communication and organizational skills will assist the Community Schools Team to provide excellent service to students in the community.


The Community Schools Hubs and Out of School Time programs offered vary across the district. As a Programmer Leader for the Britannia Hub, you are expected to lead/initiate activities and address challenging behaviour in a compassionate manner. 



- Minimum 1 year experience working with children and youth in a recreational setting

- Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities

- Current first aid and CPR certification 

- HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development and/or QUEST2 Certification or willing to obtain

- Knowledge of Indigenous communities, their diverse backgrounds and challenges faced. 



The job is approximately 12 hours per week and is primarily during the Out of School Time – applicants must be available to work afternoons until 6:00pm. This position may
require travel to a variety of sites within a neighborhood on a regular basis. This position offers an hourly wage of $10.25 to $14.25 (+ 10.67% in lieu of benefits) depending on experience.
