We are seeking to fill 2 full time positions for Residential Support Workers for Efry.

 

Primary Purpose: To ensure safety and security of residents on a daily basis and provide support and assistance to clients. To facilitate women’s access to community resources.

Nature of Work: Compulsory to Work at Multiple Sites, Various Shifts, Coverage over Vacations and Other Planed Leaves, Program Models Variable/Flexible

Key Duties/Accountabilities:

This position is key to provide assistance as required to maintain the various program environment and service to women. As needed, notifies supervisor, or on call designate of crises. Ensures that good written and verbal communication with staff coming on and going off shifts is maintained.

Education and Experience:

  • Completion of a 4 year post-secondary or/combination of diplomas in the field of social services.
  • At least one year previous work experience in a residential environment is required for this position.
  • Working with women in a related area
  • Crisis intervention & counselling skills
  • Knowledge of issues relevant to women
  • Facilitating groups
  • Knowledge of mental health & alcohol/drug issues
  • Understanding of harm reduction philosophy
  • WCB Level One First Aid, Food Safe Certificate

Skills and Abilities:

  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
