Rosedale is a Women’s Intensive Residential Substance Use Treatment Facility in Chilliwack. The facility provides a highly structured, intensive therapeutic environment.  The program is gender responsive, trauma informed and examined the underlying factors of women’s substance use.

 

Primary Purpose: To ensure safety and security of residents and provide support and assistance to clients upon entry and during their stay in the shelter.

Nature of Work: Located in Chilliwack, Flexible Shift Worker Required, Part-Time

Key Duties/Accountabilities:

Monitors residents and ensures their safety. This position is key to provide assistance as required to maintain the program environment and service to women. As needed, notifies supervisor, or on call designate of crises. Ensures that good written and verbal communication with staff coming on and going off shifts is maintained. Responsible for the housekeeping duties such as vacuuming, cleaning, and laundry, changing light bulbs, etc and may be involved in meal preparation and maintaining food inventory.

Education and Experience:

  • Completion of a 4 years university or college or/combination of diplomas in the field of social services.
  • Or equivalent education combined with experience
  • WCB Level One First Aid, Food Safe Certificate

Skills and Abilities:

  • Residential work with a diverse client group
  • Working with women in a related area
  • Sound knowledge of women’s issues
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Knowledge of mental health issues
  • Knowledge of drug & alcohol issues
  • Crisis intervention or counselling workshops/courses
  • Meal preparation and cooking
