The Caledon Parent-Child Centre (CPCC) is a non-profit community service organization that provides support, resources and education that strengthen families and promote the optimal development of children.  The CPCC has been serving Caledon and the surrounding area since 1987 with a base location in Bolton.  A mobile unit and rented space provide programs and services to families in four other locations throughout Caledon.  The Centre works in collaboration with other agencies, organizations and individuals who deal with children and families, and acts as a bridge between various services.  The Centre encourages the ongoing development of new resources and services for children and families and offers support services for families that are responsive and empowering to each community.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Program Manager and working with Caledon Parent-Child Centre staff, responsibilities include supporting the delivery of high quality child care services that support families, caregivers and children from birth through six years of age. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

This position entails, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Assists in the delivery of a safe, nurturing and positive child care program
  • Models positive behaviour management techniques for parents/caregivers of young children
  • Assists in the delivery of Centre activities during Family Time drop-in sessions

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and flexibility to function in a busy, active environment
  • Experience working with children and families
  • Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Able to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends)
  • Lifting is required (approximately 25 pounds)
  • Additional languages an asset
  • Current Emergency First Aid and CPR certification an asset
