The Program:

Fraser House is a lifetime home for mature men with developmental disabilities. The home is located in Langley Township. Three residents are non-verbal with Autism and one has Cerebral Palsy and is in a wheelchair. Fraser House has been serving men who have Autism since the program started in 1993.


 The single family, two-story house is on a quiet cul-de-sac with a large yard.  Neighbours respect and support our residents.  The location is close to a park with an outdoor pool and easy access to a library, community centre, stores and restaurants.


Fraser House is staffed weekdays in the afternoon and overnight as residents participate in community based day programming. Fraser House Home Based Day Service operates a specialized program for two adult individuals with ASD. In-house day programming activities are scheduled between 8 am to 2 pm with individualized programs emphasizing enhanced communications and a positive behavioural approach.


The Position and Scheduling:

The program manager provides operational and administrative direction for the development, implementation and management of the program in this CARF-accredited agency. S/He implements and monitors policies and procedures related to day-to-day services to persons served and directs and coordinates the day-to-day management of program staff. S/He works directly with persons served and their families/care teams as required, and is responsible for overseeing and coordinating individual program plans. The program manager participates in agency decision making and is the primary liaison with the contracting body. 


This part-time position will work 15 hours per week with a schedule that will be negotiated.  Schedule varies to meet operational needs and front line work will be required.  May be required to be “on-call” during scheduled time off.


As an ideal candidate you possess:

  • A degree in one of the humanities, social sciences or related field with educational preparation for the roles of manager and administrator.
  • Minimum of three years in a similar facility or program, with at least one year in a supervisory or management role.
  • Must have specific experience with financial and human resource management.
  • Current WCB Occupational First Aid, Level 1 and CPR certificates required.
  • Experience with basic sign language and/or alternative communication strategies training or experience an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract
  • Reliable, safe vehicle with appropriate insurance
