Job Summary:

Reporting to the Associate Program Director, the Financial Supports Specialist is responsible for supporting Open Door Group management and client(s) in identification, application and maintenance of government funded subsidies to support work force re-entry and/or success through training, wage subsidies, self-employment and job creation partnership interventions.  The Financial Supports Specialist is accountable for the administration and maintenance of currency specific to government funded subsidies



Education, Training, and Experience

  • Successful completion of two (2) year certificate/diploma in Business Administration, Community Employment or Social Service Program;
  • Recent, related experience of three (3) years negotiating and administering financial supports in Government funded programs;
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience;
  • Experience working with government contracts and/or government funded financial support programs;
  • Excellent business acumen;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), customized data bases and electronic communication tools
  • Willingness to work in a team environment.



  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others
  • Effective time management skills combined with ability to prioritize; strong organizational skills’
  • Knowledge of general office procedures
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of EPBC program



Hours of Work:             36 hours per week
