Currently, Bissell Centre is looking for the right individual to fill the position of Finance and Project Coordinator. This is a contract position ending in November 1, 2018. The Finance and Project Coordinator is an exciting opportunity that reports to the Manager of Housing Services (H2H). H2H is based on the Housing First strategy which involves a focus on housing homeless people and then providing services in a client centered, solution focused manner.


Specific responsibilities of the position include:


  • In collaboration with the Manager, Housing Services, assist in the completion of all program projects according to the individual project parameters and deadlines.
  • Responsible for maintaining the day to day financial transactions
  • Verifies accuracy in data processing of accounting information, including cheque requests and monitoring all invoices for accuracy.
  • Compiles and submits monthly reports to funder.
  • Administers and maintains records of good receipts.
  • Complete coverage of the Robert Tegler Friendship Room coverage as required
  • Other duties as required.

The ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:


  • Post secondary degree with a minimum one year work experience in the field.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with program participants, coworkers and volunteers.
  • Demonstrate the ability to ensure quality services, and program development.
  • Demonstrate competency in computer systems (Word, Excel, and database programs).
  • Exercises independent thought and judgment over resolution of non-routine problems.
  • A valid Driver’s License, satisfactory driver’s abstract and proof of $1 million PLPD insurance is required as operation of a personal vehicle is required.
