Do you want an opportunity to provide food to people who struggle to feed themselves and their families? Our client, Winnipeg Harvest, is seeking a highly-experienced Executive Director who will passionately share the mission and vision of the organization and maintain the organization’s positive reputation as a trusted and valuable contributor to Manitoba. The Executive Director will establish and maintain positive relationships with partner organizations, funders, donors, volunteers, clients and the general public and will pro-actively advocate for policies and practices that will reduce the need for food banks in the future.

 

Reporting to a community-based Board of Directors, the Executive Director leads the implementation of the strategic directions of the organization and oversees all operations, ensuring an efficient food distribution network. He / she works with the Board to develop and implement sound financial, human resource and operational policies aligned with Winnipeg Harvest values and strategic directions. The Executive Director will develop and maintain an environment and culture that promotes compassion, continuous improvement and achievement of results.

 

You will bring to this position a relevant post-secondary degree complemented by a minimum of seven years senior leadership experience preferably in non-profit organizations. A demonstrated successful track record advocating for policy and practice changes in addition to securing donations of funding, products and/or volunteer time is necessary. An in-depth understanding of how poverty and food insecurity impacts local communities is required. Experience in establishing effective distribution networks would be considered an asset. Extensive experience leading a combination of staff and volunteers is desired.
