The Role: Human Resources Coordinator

 

The HR Coordinator is responsible for supporting several aspects of Human Resource activities and initiatives for Open Door Group. Under the general direction of the HR Director, the HR Coordinator works with leadership team and organization on departmental goals and objectives, employee engagement and projects.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment: Play an active role in the full recruitment cycle
  2. Information Management:
  • Coordinate and support with the preparation, completion/ collection, maintenance and filing of HR employee documentation.
  • Support the accurate processing of employee movement (new hires, exits, changes, etc.) Ensure HR documentation flow and related records are maintained in accordance to internal controls, the requirements of funders, collective agreements & accrediting bodies.
  • Assist with the analysis of HR employee data, metrics and information to foster business insights that will inform recommendations and decision making.
  • Participate in the development, implementation & maintenance of HR Information Systems.
  1. Onboarding and Training: Work collaboratively to coordinate successful New Hire on-boarding and ongoing general and specific employee training when required.
  2. Customer Service: Respond to employee inquiries and escalate issues as appropriate.
  3. Occupational Health and Safety: Assist as a member of the OH&S Safety committee.
  4. Communication: Work with the communications department on internal communications, website content and updates pertaining to HR matters.
  5. Special Projects: Assist in coordinating special events/projects

 

Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience

 

  • Successful completion of post-secondary education in HR or Business Administration
  • Minimum 2 years recent relevant work experience; preference will be given to candidates with prior recruitment experience.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work
  • Working toward CPHR designation considered an asset

 

 

Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Thrive on multitasking with competing priorities and quick turnaround times
  • Consistently demonstrate high level of initiative and organization skills
  • Strong interpersonal & relationship building skills. Passion for exceptional customer service
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, electronic communication tools and familiarity with HRIS systems/software
  • Working knowledge of current best practices in Human Resource management
