Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Mess Manager, the Event Coordinator plans, organizes and coordinates the day-to-day running of events/functions in the messes’ facilities. He/she plans, organizes, coordinates and arranges customer’s food, beverage, facilities and services requirements of events/functions as well as attends events to facilitate operations and respond to emergencies and problems.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, food service management, or a related field AND some years experience in hospitality or food and beverage service sector

OR

College diploma or certificate in hospitality, food service management, or a related field AND several years experience in hospitality or food and beverage service sector

AND

Certification relating to special events, meetings or conference management, an asset

 

Language requirement:  English Essential

 

Experience Requirements:

  • In coordinating hospitality services
  • In organizing and coordinating events and functions
  • In inventory and bar management
  • In preparing marketing strategies
  • In coaching and mentoring team members
  • In budget administration
  • In applying policies, procedures, and relevant legislation
  • In using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, e-mail, and Internet browsing

 

Salary:  $45,230 - $53,220 per annum

 

 

Conditions of Employment:

Successful incumbent will be required to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

  • This process includes a police records check for service with the vulnerable sector.
