  • Has demonstrated experience in Communication, Formal Group Presentation & Facilitation, Coaching, Needs Assessment, Curriculum Development, Planning and Organizing

  • Is a self-directed, results-oriented team player
  • Has excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and problem solve
  • Will be able to assist clients in all of the employability dimensions
  • Will have experience working with multi-barriered clients, demonstrating a non-judgemental and positive approach to challenges
  • Solid knowledge of all facets of job search and career development techniques and practices
  • Knowledge of/experience with sector specific employers, is a strong asset
  • Experience working in Employment Services field, in private and/or public sector an asset
  • At least two years recent, related experience in employment, group facilitation and/or providing job search assistance
  • Superior oral and written communication skills, excellent time-management and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Experience in public speaking, developing PowerPoint presentations and facilitating/workshop delivery, in an adult educational environment
  • Strong outreach, organizational, team work and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English
  • Self-directed, results oriented team player
  • Has Post-secondary education preferably in Career and Work Counseling, Adult Education and/or a combination of education and relevant work related experience
  • Certification in Life Skills Coaching, Personality Dimensions and Common Assessment Training Level 1 & II, Level B Certified in the delivery of employability assessments, considered an asset
  • Has intermediate proficiency in MS Office Applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook

What you will do: Support Job Skills’ Employment Services and Programs by:

      • Coordinate with Program Manager to assess where in York Region the program should be offered
      • Provide Program Manager with details on progress of individuals in the program
      • Meet with prospective participants to determine suitability for the Program  
      • Perform client orientation to programs and services
      • Research and compile labour market and job search information relevant to the Program’s objectives
      • Design and develop curriculum/instructional material to meet individual and group needs and to reflect current labour market trends
      • Schedule, prepare and facilitate workshops using effective and varied facilitation techniques
      • Provide individual coaching and support to participants regarding employment/career related topic
      • Identify clients’ needs, abilities and interests, and develop individual profiles
      • Analyze, evaluate and collected interpret job information to assist clients in selecting the work environment best suited to them
      • Provide employment preparation and employability group and individual sessions
      • Assist with pre-employment and job maintenance issues, such as conflict resolution in the workplace
      • Aid clients in the development of appropriate work habits, behaviours, and attitudes
      • Conduct appropriate regular follow-up activities with participant
      • Assist in development of tools for presentations, networking and community events
      • Assist in the compilation of internal and external reports and statistical data
      • Work in close cooperation with administrative assistant during intake, to ensure all clients receive appropriate customer service
      • Maintain up-to-date and accurate client notes
      • Work collaboratively with various program staff to meet workshop and curriculum deliverables
      • Available to work in a mobile role and must have a valid Driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
      • Other duties as assigned
