About the Position:  In this Part-Time position, the Child Care Provider will assist the Program Facilitator/Coordinator by providing quality child care for the children of community programs participants. As a Child Care Provider, you would be responsible for ensuring the appropriate supervision, care and safety of each child, preparation and cleaning up of play areas and activities, preparation of snacks (assisting with feeding of younger children when required) and reporting all concerns/incidents to the Program Facilitator/Coordinator. The children in care can range in age from newborn to 12 years of age.

 

About You:  You possess strong verbal communication skills and have the ability to effectively communicate with and relate to people of all ages. You are a compassionate individual with a positive and empathetic approach who understands how to set appropriate professional boundaries. You thrive in a team setting and understand the importance of collaboration and support in a team environment. In addition, you are eager to learn and carry out the principles and philosophy of Closer to Home and the Teaching-Family Model.

 

A diploma or degree in a related field and/or previous experience working with children is an asset. The successful candidate must also hold a current First Aid and CPR Certification. In addition, a Police Information Check and an Intervention Record Check must be completed upon hire.
