RESPONSILBITIES:

  • Greet walk-in clients and attend to the phone at Front Desk
  • Direct phone calls to appropriate program and administrative staff
  • Answer enquiries relating to Christmas Assistance Program and other programs and services
  • Screen client’s eligibility for programs and services according to Salvation Army policies and procedures
  • Book appointments for Caseworkers
  • Provide community resources when needed
  • Issue Salvation Army Thrift Store Clothing Vouchers to walk-in clients
  • Maintain waiting / lobby area in a clean and orderly fashion
  • Advise designated staff members when receiving cash/cheque at Front Desk
  • Receive faxes and incoming mails, post outgoing mails
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Education (an alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable)
  • Possess proficient computer and keyboarding skills
  • Demonstrate empathy and concern for clients/families with respect, assertiveness and tact
  • Be able to work with a team consisting of staff and volunteers
  • Agree to undergo a Criminal Records Check

MINIMUM PRIOR RELATED EXPERIENCE:

Up to three (3) months of prior related experience, including, experience working with multi-barriered persons.

 

EMPLOYMENT TERM:

  • Contract (October 30 – December 22, 2017)
  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 4:00 pm
