ABC Head Start is accepting applications for a Home Educators who report to the Site Supervisor.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Works collaboratively with families of children with severe delays (Program Unit Funding – PUF) to enhance learning, skills and competencies across lived environments (home, school and community).
  • Conducts weekly home visits, plans and implements play based activities that foster growth and learning,
  • Connects with the children and the classroom team on a weekly basis
  • Provides documentation to improve program quality

Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • Early Learning and Child Care Diploma, Special Needs Educational Assistant Diploma, Education degree
  • Related experience working with pre-school children is required
  • Experience working with children with complex needs is required
  • Equivalent education and experience will be considered

Assets:

  • Experience with home visitation
  • Experience working with young children and their families
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Fluency in languages other than English
  • A Current Child Care First Aid Certificate

Start Date: As soon as possible

 

Compensation$17.85/ hour for meetings and classroom visits, completed visits, $53.55/visit, and incompleted visits, $26.77/visit.  There will be one classroom visit monthly, weekly family visits, and approx. 6 meetings to attend over the school year.

 

Work Location: North Campus at Delwood School and Killarney School
