WJS Canada is currently looking for an individual to join the Northern Youth Centre team in Kenora, as a Temporary Full-Time Executive Assistant.

The Position and Scheduling:

The temporary Full Time Executive Assistant assists the Program Director with the preparation and maintenance of employee files, assist with preparation of scheduling and pre-evaluation documents, complete job posting request forms, conduct reference checks and credential verifications, participate in interviews, complete payroll, petty cash and expense reports as well as other administration items for the programs as designated by the Program Managers.

 

This position will work Monday through Friday, 0800-1600 and will be for approximately six months to cover a maternity leave.  Position is based in Kenora and will work with our Northern Youth Centre and Kenora Attendance Centre.

The Programs:

Northern Youth Centre is a twelve-bed Open Custody – Open Detention centre for Young Persons. in Northern Ontario. The Centre offers a casual and comfortable home environment situated on twenty-seven treed and rural riverside acres. The home-like environment and appointments invite engagement and encourage participation. The Centre is close to the Kenora business section for ease of networking with community services and full access to a wide range of educational, recreational, counselling and volunteer programs for the residents.

 

The WJS Northern Regional Attendance Centres offer Structured Day Supervision for youth in crisis or at risk of making unhealthy lifestyle choices. Our unique, respectful and welcoming settings provide safe, structured environments for youth development. We have Attendance Centres located in Kenora, Dryden and Sioux Lookout in Northern Ontario.

 

As an ideal candidate you possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in related business, administrative, liberal arts or social sciences or other discipline.  Lesser qualified candidates with other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Three to five years experience directly related to the specified duties and responsibilities or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract
  • A reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance
