POSITION OVERVIEW:

Are you passionate about gender equality and advancing the leadership potential of women and girls? Minerva BC is seeking a Senior Manager of Partnerships & Philanthropy to drive major gifts, plan and execute fundraising events, and initiate campaigns and corporate donor stewardship. This is a hands-on fundraising role that reports directly to the CEO.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and implement a strategic plan and resource development strategy to advance a $1.3M fundraising portfolio inclusive of corporate partnerships, major gifts, signature events, and community giving to support Minerva BC programs
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to Partnerships & Alumnae Manager to cultivate and solicit major gifts, increase individual monthly giving and multi-year donations, and implement alumnae engagement program
  • Manage funder relationships, identify high value corporate prospects and foundations, conduct one-on-one meetings, and inspire new partners to meet annual revenue goals
  • Act as the primary writer for corporate and foundation grants, steward a grant calendar, and communicate with donors and partners on progress and impact
  • Develop and implement donor stewardship strategies that fulfill donors’ interests and passions, thereby securing, retaining and growing gifts
  • Support marketing and communications content development to deliver compelling brand story and promote stakeholder engagement
  • Conceptualize and coordinate signature fundraising events to build community and connect donors with their impact: manage event budget, logistics, invitations, publicity and sponsorship opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with the Partnerships & Alumnae Manager to develop and execute an annual giving campaign calendar, a donor recognition plan and a planned giving program

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A post-secondary degree or equivalent experience in any of the following areas: business, fundraising, education, community development and/or political science
  • 5-7 years of experience in a donor relations or fundraising role for a charity or non-profit organization with success in donor communications and proposal development
  • Experience in leading fundraising activities, events and initiating effective fundraising/sponsorship strategies and programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high degree of comfort in making presentations to donors and soliciting gifts
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented and able to lead and mentor others
  • Experience working in a cross-cultural environment, stewarding relationships with Indigenous communities and leaders an asset
  • Experience with DonorPerfect, Mail Chimp, social media and other communications tools an asset
